Box play

Mum brought us a new toy the other day, its now mine!

I've been thinking about teaming up with Maru from Japan and we could form a new business venture "Boxes for the discerning feline" ...

Ulfar on the other hand has been mostly doing this...

...boys! :-)

New crockery set

Well Mummy turned up today after work with a new bowl set for Ulfar and I - I wondered why she said we had a surprise tonight...I feared it was another dose of ear drops but no a genuine present for us!

It was from http://www.reclaim-me.com/Cats.html, they also make bowls for our canine cousins, have a look yourself.

I am Maru age 3

One of our Japanese Comrades - Maru (flattering pose above), recently turned 3 years old.  His parents must really love him a lot they make inventive and radical films of him regularly!

See his latest collection from youtube - I am Maru

Blot would like to point out that she too can position herself into most box shapes, she will tell mum to start recording a blockbuster!

Toby lookalike!?

I hate ear drops, especially when Mum takes a picture of me afterwards.

ULFAR (grandson of Toby, son of Jenkins and Muffin)
TOBY (Grandfather of Ulfar, father to Blot
I'm posting the picture here as apparently I'm looking more like my grand father Toby every day...I'm guessing he was "jumped on" regularly for ear drop application too!?

A barking cat - it wasn't me!

Another of our magnificent feline "impressionist" comrades practising the "dog bark for human deception" technique.  Well done comrade, you have attained your colours!

It is always better to blame it on the dog apparently, however Ulfar and I don't have a dog sibling and we've tried blaming the ferrets but we don't get away with it for long...we need to practice our "ferret chatter" or "dooking" - humans term for noise!

A mothers love

Click the link below:  Mum likes to cuddle us like this - I don't mind in private but not in front of guests!

First strawberry of the season

Don't disturb me I'm eating
This is my older brother - Freddy and yes that's correct, he is a tortoise, a Hermans Tortoise.  He came to live with Mum when he was 4 months old and travelled from Cumbria to Yorkshire in a TNT van (all seems a bit dangerous to me).

Anyway here is Fred eating the first (alpine) strawberry of the year, he was so happy he nearly bit the end of mummy's finger - A winter of Mizuna, Lambs Lettuce and random dandelion leaves (mum's secret hedge stash ;-)) had taken its toll until last nights delight!

You missed a bit..

Zoom Catnip

Mum bought us some strong catnip weeks ago but kept forgetting to get it out of the packet so whilst it was on the table in full view we thought we’d remind her!  I didn’t manage to get in the picture but here is a picture of Blot giving her approval and a final one "smacked" out on catnip!

Must Love Cats - Animal Planet

Mum and Dad were watching a brilliant programme on Television last night called “Must love cats” (well doesn’t everyone?!).

It shows a human cat lover man travelling around the USA visiting equally interesting and intelligent human cat lovers. Unfortunately mum said we've missed some of the programmes but the website linked above has a few clips from different episodes - Check out John's favourites clip, it shows the cat land shelter, each house is different and special - Mum said we have a nice house to live in and don't need a Play house to live in, apparently we're lucky, I don't feel lucky, I want a "Kitty Saloon"!!!

Bertrum Thumbcat

I don’t know if you have seen the TV Star "Bertrum Thumbcat" he also stars in the latest Cravendale advert and like ME has THUMBS?  Here are a few links to some interesting photos from his album and his twitter account, follow and you will not be disappointed.
When we cats take over the world (fairly immanent) Bertrum, Blot and I will be the new leaders. Of course a few others have been assigned special positions of responsibility based on intelligence, personality and specialist subject - more on this another time, I mustn't say too much, ssshhh.

Carpet

I am writing this week, Ulfar is relaxing on the carpet, legs “akimbo” so lazy!  So my news for this week is the carpet.  In all my years (3 years and 1 month) I have never walked nor laid on carpet, proper carpet and not just a rug, oh what a joy!

Ulfar (as if I needed to specify)
Ulfar again, enjoying the carpet
Me (Blot)
Last week was awkward. Dad and Mum were at home doing some DIY, cleaning, gardening, decorating, shopping ...there were far too many feet and loud voices around the place, thankfully they’re back at work today and our routine returns to normal including the spilt pen pot - mum will be cross so I’ll blame it on Ulfar. Ulfar was sunbathing again over the weekend...

Ulfar and I were looking on Mum’s twitter page and found this competition “What cat are you” - Of course I know what I am, I am Pixie-bob Princess Blot but perhaps if you’re unsure of what cat you are or what cat you’d like to be why not try it.

Walking again

I went out with dad again at the weekend, Blot ran off when I put my harness on so no pictures of her but look at these pictures of me...

Here I was trying to work out where all the birds are, they make a lot of noise!

Food

Mum took some pictures of us the other day when we were eating our Rabbit for supper, I am always happy to smile for the camera, Blot is more fussy and wouldn’t smile...

After looking through the camera, I found this one of Scuzzy (my ferret brother) and I chilling during the colder months.

Mum told me to put this one in too, she said it shows how cute I am...I wish she’d take me seriously!

Spring Walk

Mum decided we should go outside yesterday as it was a warmish and sunny and she wanted to take some photographs.

Whilst I enjoy my walks on harness I do like to stay close to mum and dad, beyond the gate there are loud noises and nutters!  I’ve seen metal boxes with wheels that fly past and it makes the ground move and sometimes noisy humans shout at my gate - I am offended by this and will not go out!

Blot with Dad swearing at mum for making her go outside! - I would never do that

Blot on the other hand did not want to go out and she did not think it warm or warmish (see image above, I would never swear at mum) at all when forced and has refused to help with our diary update today deciding instead to go to sleep on our new memory foam mattress which I had almost forgotten about.  Mum came home on Friday with a mattress under her arm that she’d “won at work” apparently - I always wondered why humans need to work apart from the “to keep you in biscuits and rabbit” comment I get each day as I’m grabbing mums feet as she leaves for work, obviously there is more to it than they tell us!

Meet Anson Road Ulfar Muffinson

I will follow on from my Aunt’s post below.  My official name is Anson Road Ulfar Muffinson, known by my friends (I have a lot) as Ulfie, Woolfie, Muffinson, Mittens, Cutie Sausage (mum, so embarrassing!) and I also seem to have been bestowed the name stinky poo and quite often!

My early life differs greatly from that of Blot’s, she reminds me every day, “how lucky I am”...I will admit there is a little resentment.  I am a year younger than her and my birth father was Blot’s brother - Jenkins.  I was raised as a girl** in a house with children (I knew it wasn’t forever) until I was four months old when I came to live with Aunty Gertrud (Jenkins’ human Mummy) - I believe that is when mum and dad (human) first saw me and called Aunty Gertrud to enquire about my future.  I read the post by Blot and feel bad that she didn’t want me but then that’s girls isn’t it, they’re all a bit strange, my preference would have been a brother/Uncle but we can’t have everything we want.

I was quite excited about my move to North Yorkshire on that sunny morning in November and was waiting patiently in Aunty Gertrud’s kitchen when they arrived, my new parents.  Mum said I was very precious and dad picked me up straight away introducing himself.  I realised they smelt of cats and seemed to know Aunty Gertrud so was happy to go along with them.  We arrived in Yorkshire 4 hours later, I was tired, thirsty and a little scared.  I was greeted by Blot suspiciously and I have to say, quite aggressively. After an hour or so we became friends.  She says she realised after an hour I was no threat to her status... I never did find out what she meant?!

** Upon arrival at Aunty Gertrud’s it was discovered I was in fact a boy - Not a girls as I had known all along; humans!

Meet Anson Road Lynx Blot

My full name is Anson road Lynx Blot but my friends and family call me Blot, Blotty, Little Princess, Her Highness - I don’t mind any of these however, I will not acknowledge grumpy pants and stinky poo.

I have had a varied life, first living with Aunty Gertrud in London and then moving to the south coast at 9 months old with my cousin Tetley. Unfortunately our south coast retreat was not to be and it wasn’t long before we had to be rescued by Aunty Gertrud and brought back to London and recover from our traumatic ordeal (I’d rather not go into it, Charlotte said I should just forget it now and remember she loves me) before moving to North Yorkshire with Charlotte and Mark my new and forever parents!

There were many new things to adjust to when I moved to Yorkshire.  Firstly I was not living in a cat only household any more I was sharing (I had not known this concept before) with my 6 animal siblings; Frederick, Alfonso, Scuzzy, Midge, Stella and Lilly.  As well as the taunts from my siblings I had to endure what seemed like an almost constant plethora of visitors eager to see me, some strange and some my new family.  Either way I didn’t like it and would remain in the family bedroom under the bed against the wall until mum came and insisted I socialise; she spent a lot of time on the floor during those first few weeks!

It took a while to get used to living here well it was actually 6 weeks to be precise and I remember this well.  Mum was in the front room on the telephone to Aunty Gertrud, I couldn’t believe my ears - they were talking about bringing home another orphan and this time a BOY!  I was devastated, wasn’t I enough?! I decide to throw a tuna into the mix and for the first time in 6 weeks I sat next to Dad; no-one told me to, I was secretly hoping it wasn’t too late for mum to change her mind!
